“The Mouth” wins event #18, No Limit 2-7 Draw Lowball
One of poker’s most vocal players, Mike Matusow, won his third WSOP bracelet, beating the 84 other entries in this smallest of WSOP events. The seven players in the final table held a combined total of 8 WSOP bracelets. The players, seats and chip counts starting the 12 hours of final table play were:

Benyamine was the first player to exit, raising all in and then choosing to stand pat on his J-8-7-4-2. His only calling opponent, Eric Lindgren, chose to draw, and improve his 8-2-4-5, with a 7, giving him 8-low. Benyamine busted in 7th place, earning himself $58,990.
Tony Guoga made an all in raise with 8-5-3-2, which was called by Lindgren, who held 9-8-6-4. Both men drew one card and in the end the board looked like this:
Guoga: 8-5-3-2-2
Lindgren: 9-8-6-5-4
Guoga’s pair knocked him out of the tournament in 6th place, earning a paycheck for $78,075.
Tom Schneider, who was the 2007 WSOP player of the year, busted out in a three way pot with Matusow and Lisandro. Matusow took down the pot with 9-5-4-3-2. Schneider mucked his hand and left the table in 5th place, winning $104,101.
Erick Lindgren was attempting to earn a second bracelet of the 2008 WSOP when he raised Matusow and Lisandro with 7-6-3-2. Matusow called and Lisandro folded. Erick fell short when he drew a 2, giving him one pair, to Matusow’s 8-7-6-4-2, 8-low.
Lindgren walked away with $156,151 and a 4th place finish.
Barry Greenstein moved all in before drawing one card and then showing, 9-7-6-2. His one calling opponent, Lisandro, showed T-8-5-4. Greenstein’s final card, paired his 7, giving the best hand to Lisandro, whose final card was an A, for A-low.
Greenstein, left the tournament in 3rd, taking home $225,552.
The very first hand of heads-up play saw Matusow move all in and double up through Lisandro’s call. After another hour that was dominated by Matusow, Lisandro was all in with 9-6-5-3, before drawing a Q and going out in second place, and winning $347,004. Matusow’s Q-8-7-4-3 would earn him $537,862 and his third WSOP bracelet.
